Owlevia is a Mandarin vocabulary learning platform. It helps users acquire HSK vocabulary through contextual reading and a spaced repetition system (SRS). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We collect the following types of information:

  • Email address — collected when you choose to save your progress or join the HSK 2–3 waitlist.
  • Study progress data — your word ratings, review intervals, and session history, stored to power the spaced repetition system.
  • Usage data & cookies — non-personal information such as pages visited and session duration, collected via browser cookies to improve the platform.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

The information we collect is used to: (a) save and restore your vocabulary progress across sessions; (b) notify you when new content (such as HSK 2–3) becomes available, if you opted in; and (c) improve and maintain the Owlevia platform.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal data to any third parties. Your email address and study data are used solely for the purposes described in this policy.

5. Cookies

Owlevia uses cookies and browser local storage to maintain your session and study progress. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but this may prevent progress from being saved between visits.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email and progress data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you wish to have your data deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.

7. Children's Privacy

Owlevia is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of Owlevia after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
